It helps level the playing field since you're all working for the same goal. ![]() Reason to smile: One of the best multiplayer features is one where a player can duck inside a bubble safely, while the other players work through a difficult section. They just take some time to figure out.Īnd that's the definition of a fun game, so if you have a Wii, then this is an easy choice and something you'll be able to play for a long time. But it's balanced well, so the difficult parts don't feel unfair. It's a tough game, and you'll need several tries on most levels unless you're just a natural. It really takes off when you add a few friends, although it doesn't always get easier (griefing your buddies can be part of the fun, though, since it's really hard to resist shoving an unsuspecting friend off a ledge and bouncing on their head). ![]() It has a perfect mix of puzzles and timing, dozens of levels across eight worlds, and plenty of boss fights. In fact, this game closely resembles the "New Super Mario Bros." game for the DS from two years ago. There is no disputing that the first "Mario Bros." games were great, and this newest one is actually even better.īut apart from the multi-player there aren't many new ideas. Wii" might be a little misleading, since the gameplay is based on the tried-and-true 2-D style dating way back to the mid-1980s and the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Will the heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom be able to rescue the princess from her captors?" What they're selling: From Nintendo - "Some uninvited guests have crashed Princess Peach's birthday. Who would have thought that after all these years plumbers and 2-D gaming would still be relevant? Yet here we are in late 2009, and one of the flagship titles for the Wii is another in a long line of "Super Mario Bros." games. ![]()
